Living Traditions

A private 7-day cultural apprenticeship.

One tradition, one community, and one or two students. You live and learn beside the people who carry it, work with your hands all week, and leave with something you made. More traditions will open as the families we work with are ready.

100% of The Community Garden’s profits from these programs support cultural preservation, language revitalization, and the communities hosting the participant.

How it works

A week inside one tradition.

One or two of you

Built for a single student, or two who come together at the same price. The teaching is direct, with no group to keep pace with and nothing staged for an audience.

Dates are arranged

Book the week in full at $1,750 and tell us your preferred dates at checkout. We confirm them with your hosts by email, and you can move your week free up to 60 days out.

You make something

Each apprenticeship ends with work of your own, made with your teacher, and a Certificate of Completion naming the tradition and the people who taught you.

The money stays there

Teachers and host families are paid for their time, and the foundation’s profit goes back into cultural preservation and language work.
